Welcome to www.TheLostExperience.com, your one source for all of the clues, videos, pics, and theories related to "The LOST Experience", ABC's innovative online game that takes you deep within the secrets of the hit show LOST.
The LOST Experience takes LOST fans on an expansive, international easter egg hunt through websites, commercials, emails, phone numbers, and more, in search of pieces to a larger puzzle, a puzzle which, when solved, will enlighten LOST fans to some of the shows deepest mysteries!
This morning the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced the nominees for the 60th Annual Emmy Awards.
It's absolutely impossible for one person to attend San Diego Comic-Con and see everything of interest. The schedule is so jam-packed with panels, celebrities, special screenings and Q&As that things often overlap each other and create conflicts of interest. For example, if you want to see the stars of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles you're going to have to miss the panels for Lost and Heroes. Want to see the cast of Pushing Daisies? Prepare to miss the cast of Chuck. While Comic-Con is a TV fan's dream come true, it can also be a regular Sophie's Choice full of gut-wrenching decisions.
Below is the audio of our discussion, and the ten semi-finalists for the category and the episode they sent in for consideration.Read More
The Lost lips aren't particularly loose. Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are, as they should be, wary of giving up information during the summer. Lost plies its trade with the tool of surprise, and anything that might ruin the surprise is a bad thing. I fully support Darlton's “radio silence” approach; spoilers for Lost are as toxic as they come. However, seeing that Lost fans are amongst the most rabid in the world, they have to talk about something during these summer months. Thus, you get excessive analysis of the minutiae. There was a piece in Michael Ausiello's first Entertainment Weekly mailbag regarding Lost that might give us some information about the final two seasons of the series. It also might be faulty conjecture. I'll let you decide.Read More
Josh Holloway could be a movie star. There, I said it. The man has ample charisma, he's got the looks, and there's nothing stopping him from being an action star. It would be untrue to say that Lost has launched Holloway's career – Lost is all that there is of his career. Unlike co-star Matthew Fox, Holloway has stayed away from Hollywood during his time on Lost. Reportedly, Holloway even turned down a cameo in X-Men: The Last Stand as fan-favorite Gambit (which, by the way, is a character Holloway is perfect for). So, what's the hold-up? As a fan, you can't blame a television actor for not jumping full-on into the Hollywood machine. The summer hiatus on Lost isn't terribly long, and that very much limits the available roles. It's better to stay at home with your family and wait for the next season of Lost rather than take a crappy movie role. Finally, however, it appears Josh Holloway has found a role to his liking. Holloway has accepted a supporting role in the upcoming comedy “Stay Cool.” Read More
We still have months to suffer in anticipation before the fifth season of Lost kicks off in 2009. While we all patiently wait to find out where and when the island teleported, there's a variety of ways to rewatch the first four seasons of the series. There are the DVDs, with the fourth season hitting stores on December 9, and you can also watch every episode through iTunes, ABC.com or Veoh.com. However, if you long to rewatch Lost complete with commercial breaks and a lengthy wait between episodes, you'll be happy to hear that the Sci Fi Channel will begin rerunning the series on Monday, September 15. According to TheFutonCritic.com, the network has scheduled its Fall line-up, which includes Lost as well as premiere dates for Ghost Hunters and other shows.Read More
It's rare that a television network or television show would encourage its audience to read a book. TV and the written word are in direct opposition of each other, mortal enemies, and ever since the television was invented, the written word has waned in popularity. Lost is not your typical television series, however, and today's announcement of a “Lost Book Club” only further proves this fact. As any fan of Lost is well-aware, the series is filled to the brim with literary references and, literally, the appearance of classic books. On Lost, characters read. On Lost, what characters read can often inform the action on the series. The Lost Book Club is an informal sort of thing, and can be found on ABC's Lost homepage, where a multitude of books are listed and categorized. For each book, you'll be given its relevance within the Lost canon (i.e. where it actually popped up on the show), a synopsis of the book itself, and a link to a message board where you can discuss the book and its significance with other Lost fans.Read More
Last Thursday the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences unveiled the comedy and drama series up for Primetime Emmy nominations. Though those lists were made public, the nominations in the acting categories have been kept secret – though Gold Derby's Tom O'Neil has tapped his sources and sifted through rumors to provide the unofficial top 10 lists of who made the cut.
On Thursday the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced the top 10 finalists for this year's Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama and Comedy Series. Now, though ATAS isn't talking, Gold Derby's Emmy guru Tom O'Neil is slowly but surely getting his hands on the lists for the acting categories. In the world of TV awards shows, this is akin to O'Neil scoring 50-yard-line tickets to the Super Bowl for all us Emmy aficionados.
Today, thanks to the hard work of Tom O'Neill at Gold Derby, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences released the official top 10 lists for this year's Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Comedy and Drama Series. The final top five nominations in every category will be announced July 18, but for the first time ever, ATAS is allowing its process to be transparent by revealing these top 10 lists so award lovers can get a preview of who's in the running.
Sometimes, life is a mystery. The 34th Annual Saturn Awards were held earlier this week in Los Angeles. The Saturn Awards honor the very best in fantasy and science fiction film and television as voted on by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films. This week's awards honored the very best of 2007 and, not surprisingly, Lost cleaned up the television category. What is surprising (well, earth-shattering, really) is that Jennifer Love-Hewitt won the Best Television Actress category for her work on Ghost Whisperer. She beat out Evangeline Lilly from Lost, Lena Headey from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Holly Hunter from Saving Grace, Kyra Sedgwick from The Closer and Anna Friel from Pushing Daisies. Those other actresses are, unequivocally, better at acting than Love-Hewitt. So, how did she win? I have my theories (plus the results from the Awards ceremony). Read More
J.J. Abrams is one of the busiest men in Hollywood. He's currently working on the big re-invention of the Star Trek film franchise, he has a new series hitting FOX in the Fall (Fringe), and is slated to work on a feature film adaptation of Stephen King's Dark Tower book series. While his duties on Lost are minimal at this point, he's still technically the show's executive producer. Late last week, Abrams heaped on another project to his already chock-full schedule. Abrams and his production company Bad Robot have purchased the film rights to a recent New York Times article called “The Mystery on Fifth Avenue.” The article is about a Manhattan couple who spent over eight million dollars remodeling their house to include an intense scavenger hunt (complete with puzzles, maps, and a soundtrack) for their four kids. With a few months to go until the end of LOST, fans are beginning to wonder if ABC will be making another attempt at a LOST arg. After last summer's LOST Experience left a rather bored Rachel Blake with the knowledge that her nemesis Mittlewerk was alive and well and intent on destroying a huge percentage of the population, one would assume more LOST experience goodies await us, no?
Click here to find out one and for all....
I don't know about you guys, but I've been waiting for something, anything, TLE related to pop up and there's been nothing. It didn't even have to be a full blown ARGish thing and I know most of us would have been happy.
I remember the powers that be saying there would be mobisodes (clips available to cellphone users with video streaming... I think it was Verizon customers, not sure) that would give us some stuff we wouldn't otherwise be able to get. Anyone seen these? I haven't even heard about them.
The Lost Experience ended with a cliffhanger. They've GOT to be planning something, right? Maybe in the summer? I have to know what happens with Rachel Blake and the Hanso Foundation. What happened to Alvar? What has Mittlewerk been up to?
It's been a while, sure... but I need some closure.
File this under, hey I should have known that...
With Season Three barely started, ABCMarketing is already thinking ahead for next summer. Not only will there be a sequel (duh) to finish telling the story (hopefully they keep 'Rachel' away from the ludes this time around) but there are also plans to include a faux documentary of what happened with this LOST experience on the LOST Season Three DVD box set.
Now your saying what I said, that'll be like September... so it won't help to indoctrinate new gamers for the summer, right?
Well, there is a slim possibility that the Documentary will first premiere on the LOST Season One HD-DVD set which is expected to be announced any day. Apparently everything was shot on HD cameras, so the set will include an upgraded print of Rachel's shinaneghans. (Hey VHS would be better than the cruddy flash video they used for the "final" scene.)
Is adding an extended recap of the Lost Experience in HD going to value or devalue such a set? You tell me.
Did you ever know that your my hero.......
Here are the people, that remain in the log anyways, who contribute throughout the game to keeping this site updated and relevant, (even though we were in a coma for a couple of weeks).
As the lost experience drew to a close on sunday, one of the summers most exciting and innovative Experiences ended.... And i can truly say, we had a lot of fun theorising with you. We will still probably have updates here.. but not for periods of time.
I enjoyed it.
Namaste from me atleast

Check out the Hanso Foundation website.
There's a letter from Alvar Hanso.
Click on the word "humanity" in the third paragraph. Mittlewerk has a message for us too.
I guess the saga continues. But it smells like this is the end for now...
Here is Rachel's final video in Divx.
The Lost Experience, a creation of ABC and their advertising partners, was to be an immersive portal for Lost viewers to be part of a tiny, lurid slice of the Lost universe. In the beginning, it was the story of The Hanso Foundation, a seemingly benevolent corporation with a dark secret, a secret which a mysterious hacker named Persephone was intent to reveal.
Well, it's all over. Was it worth it? Was it a waste of time? Did you get the answers you wanted?
To commemorate the CLOSE of TheLostExperience we will be assembling a one time podcast comprised of your thoughts on the ARG. We've set up a skype voice mail, just dial up thetailsection an share your feelings!
Alternatively, you can record your comments in Wav or Mp3 and email them to tips@thelostexperience.com.
If your too shy, well you can always use the content form!
Well, folks, it seems that Sunday's DjDan podcast will be the end of The Lost Experience.
Here are the details. It's on September 24th at 8pm PST. (It mistakenly says that it's 5pm Eastern but it's actually 11 pm Eastern)
Supposedly there will be a special guest on the show (I wonder who that will be?) and DjDan is going to give us a video that will bring down the Hanso Foundation once and for all.
Do you think that will happen? Or do you think Hanso Foundation will somehow stay in business?
It's been a fun ride, though. Sometimes frustrating, sometimes annoying, sometimes just plain wacky. But the community made the best of it and we've met some great people along the way, yes?
If anything happens before Sunday, of course we'll keep you updated here.
As always, feel free to share your thoughts here or on the forums.
UPDATE: Click "Continue Reading"!!!
Well, the ROT people posted another thread on the 19th. But it's dated 9/13.
Anyway, Iobiseeingyou tells the tale of a wierd experience she had. Check it out. (Password is: Steinbeck)
Is Hanso going on the offensive? What's going on?
Something else happened. As some of you remember, there was this guy named WTK who apparently helped Rachel at some point. This morning someone got a wierd message from WTKFleet35 on AIM. When that someone replied to it, this autoresponse was given:
"I'm on my way out the door. Tell Rachel's friends that soon they will know why I did what I did. I have to go. Gonna take care of of some unfinished business."
What do you think that means?
Rachel sent us another new email this afternoon, it reads as follows:
OKAY, EVERYBODY. THIS IS IT. YOU'VE FOUND OVER 1000 APOLLO BARS. I KNOW NOW THAT THE WHOLE WORLD IS WATCHING...
GO TO WWW.WHEREISALVAR.COM
Is there more to this then meets the eye? "This is it"? Sounds like something big is going to happen. Stay tuned.
We're still trying to figure out what exactly is going on but it seems that Rachel and The Fixer (aka Malik) are having a conversation by sending these wierd codes to Speaker and The Lost Ninja.
It started Saturday on Speaker's "Inside the Experience" blog.
After flipping this horizontally, you decode it as hex, and then decode it as ascii then it gives you a message that's written backwards. The message is (Thanks to the ITE Yahoo chat team):
"M - conscience is keeping you in the fight is it? heard you call into dj dan. if you're talking about who i think you are, then you already know my answer"
It looks like Rachel is trying to get some help from The Fixer, Malik (aka Ironman).
Today, Malik responded. He chose Lost Ninja to send his message.
So this one needed to be flipped vertically. Then you need to type the letters but instead of typing them normally, you actually type the key that's one key to the left.
The solution is (thanks to Dante on TLEC):
"R -- I think it's fair to say, whatever conscience I have was built on faulty equipment. This is a matter of duty. Loyalty... Speaking of which, I've been troubled by the very recent disappearance of an old friend, de Zylva. We all saw your Sri Lanka video. You were captured at the end, and yet, there you were, blasting those Lost producers in San Diego not a week later. And, I have to wonder... did de Zylva have something to do with that(shift?) Do you know what's become of him?"
So there we are.
Stay tuned for more developments and as always feel free to comment and theorize on this new stuff going on.
And by the way, who's De Zylva? We haven't met this person, right?

As many of you are already aware, Stever Irwin died while filming a documentary in Austrailia.
I know this has nothing to do with The Lost Experience, but The Crocodile Hunter was one of those people who come around once in a lifetime and by the sheer depth of his love of nature, touched us.
He was an inspiration to many.
Rest in Peace, Steve Irwin.
Our hearts go out to his family.
If you, like me, are unlucky enough to live too far from a Dharma food drop to get your hands on a yummy Apollo bar, listen up. The good folks at http://rbrefugees.blogspot.com/ have a few extras, but they're not just giving them away... your going to have to earn them. Give them a visit, and good luck.
Several weeks ago I had the opportunity to talk to Entertainment Weekly senior writer, and LOST theorizer extraordinaire, Jeff Jensen! Jeff not only has some of the most interesting and entertaining theories out there on LOST, he also has had the privilege of being able to rub elbows with the creative forces behind LOST so I knew he would have some interesting insights to share, and I wasn’t disappointed. If you don't read Jeff, you need to start. Some of the best theorizing in the entertainment press with regards to LOST, and a hell of a lot of fun!
Without further adieu….
